RECAP | Busy Long Weekend Friday Night Results

Ottawa, ON- There were goals a plenty on this night as Rockland, Hawkesbury, Brockville, Cornwall and Smiths Falls earn victories.

Rockland 5 Pembroke 3

The high flying Rockland Nationals came out of the gate flying as the peppered Lumber Kings goalie Jannes Kamp with 16 first period shots (en route to 44 in the game).   Kamp withstood the onslaught allowing only a goal from Dylan McDougall.   The 2nd was closer but the 3rd period the goals came early and often.   They traded goals as Daniel Myloserdnyy & Loic Gosselin scored for Rockland while Liam Cardiff got both for Pembroke.  Nationals captain Josh O’Conner scored an empty netter to seal the win.

UP NEXT: Pembroke hosts the Navan Grads for a Sunday afternoon matchup at the PMC while the Nationals are off until next Wednesday when they travel to Renfrew.

Hawkesbury 7 Navan 4

Goals, goals, goals.    The goal featured 11 goals and 11 different goal scorers.   Talk about balanced attacks.   The Grads opened the scoring and took a 2-0 lead after the 1st.   In the 2nd, The Hawks stormed back with 3 straight before superstar Shaan Kingwell tied it up at 3’s.    In the 3rd, the Hawks kept up their strong offensive game putting 4 more past the keeper.   For the Hawks, Remi Gelinas scored his 7th of the season in the win.

UP NEXT: Navan travels to Pembroke for a 2:30pm Sunday game against the Kings.   The Hawks now enjoy a week off before travelling to Brockville for a game against the Braves.

Brockville 6 Ottawa 0

Certain games are labelled “statement games”.   This could be one for those for the Braves as they dominated from start to finish against the Jr. Senators.   The star of this one, Braves goalie Trey Caracciolo who made 48 saves for the shutout win.    Much like earlier games, the balanced offense from the Braves was hard to stop as they had 6 different scorers (Paluszak, Cote, Legostaev, Lumsden, Albright, Verspeeten).    Trsitan Webb with a solid game for the Jr. Senators in the loss.

UP NEXT: Brockville travels down the highway for Sunday game against the Raiders.   Ottawa travels west for a matchup against the Carleton Place Canadians on Sunday.

Cornwall 4 Kemptville 3 (OT)

In the closest game of the night, the Cornwall Colts bounced back after a shootout loss the night prior to earn in overtime.  The tennis match started with Cornwall getting the first as teams traded goals until overtime.   The pattern was successfully completed when Colts Sean Matthew Goyette got his first of the season for the winner less than 2 minutes into overtime.

UP NEXT: Kemptville continues their mini homestand as they battle the Bears on Sunday while Cornwall next game is against a familiar foe…. the Kemptville 73’s on Thursday night.

Smiths Falls 6 Renfrew 1

The Bears continued their new found offensive game as they have now put up 11 goals in their last 2 games.  leading the way was Travis Ouellette as he buried his 4th and 5th of the season.   Blais, Cardillo, Parker, and Cameron with the others.   Grant Lucas with his 1st of the season was the lone scorer for Renfrew.   Braxton Bennett with 23 saves in the win.

UP NEXT:  Renfrew is back at it tonight for a game against the Carleton Place Canadians in the lone Saturday game.   Smiths Falls is back in action Sunday against Kemptville.
