Nepean wins tough contest against Gloucester, 4-3

The teams traded the lead four times and neither team could skate away and hide.

Nepean's penalty kill excelled, as Nepean gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 5:37 into the first period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Raiders stifled Rangers's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.Nepean got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the gameRangers were unable to stop Raiders from sending pucks towards the net, and Raiders eventually piled up 56 shots on goal.

In addition, Nepean received assists from Mike Finger, Noah Kalsner-Lowe, Blake Dalton, Belec, Ugo Roik, Josh Zizek, and Savidant, who each chipped in one.

Gloucester put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Nepean to score on any of their six power plays.Rangers kept Raiders's goalie busy throughout the game, and Francis Marotte made 29 saves on 32 shots.

Gloucester were led by Paul Vella, who finished with one goal and two assists.Vella scored in the first period to make the score 1-0 Gloucester. Nepean ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For Raiders, Daniel Porter was ejected from the game. Rangers ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Gloucester ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Dan Martin was ejected from the game.
