Nepean rolls over Kanata, 4-1

 

The Nepean Raiders had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Kanata Lasers.

 

Nepean was led by PJ Heger, who tallied one goal and one assist. Heger scored 5:52 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Nepean. Justin Hess picked up the assist.

Kanata was unable to stop the Raiders from sending pucks towards the net, and Nepean eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

Jody Sullivan also scored for Nepean. More assists for Nepean came via Rowan Savidant, Evan Lindquist, Hunter Garlasco, Josh Zizek, Ugo Roik, and Luke McCaw, who contributed one each.

The Lasers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Kanata was led by Mike McArthur, who scored the team's only goal. McArthur scored on the power play 1:37 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Nepean. A hooking penalty on Garlasco had put the Lasers on the power play. Michael Locatelli assisted on the tally.

Jack Ondrovic recorded 24 saves for the Raiders. Nepean incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Evan Moyse made 40 saves for Kanata on 44 shots. The Lasers registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
