The Central Canada Hockey League and Pembroke Lumber Kings are pleased to announce that ’96 born winger Alex Gilmour has committed to attend NCAA Division I St. Lawrence University this coming fall.

The 6-5, 210 lb Toronto, ON native is in his second season with the Lumber Kings where he has posted 11 goals and 36 points in 32 games of action.  He recently represented the Yzerman Division in the Eastern Canada All-Star Challenge where he finished with 1 goal and 3 points in 5 games.  In 64 career games with Pembroke, Gilmour has totaled 34 goals and 81 points.  Before his time in the CCHL, Gilmour had stints in both the OJHL and USHL.

“We are very excited for the opportunity Alex has been given,” said Lumber Kings Head Coach Sean Crozier.  “Alex is a character kid who is our leader both on and off the ice, we know he will be a great asset for St. Lawrence both next season and for the duration of his stay there.”

St. Lawrence plays out of the Appleton Arena in Canton, NY and is currently tops in the ECAC Conference with a 6-2-1-0 record.  The Saints have a long and rich hockey tradition dating back to the 1925-26 season.

“I am very excited to continue my hockey career through education,” Gilmour said.  “It has been a goal my family and I have set, and I have worked hard to get to this point.  The hard work is just beginning now, but I am honoured to join a school with great academic history and an outstanding hockey program.”
