Ottawa Jr Senators forward Greg Meireles has been named to Team Canada for the upcoming Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament which begins Monday August 8th in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
The ’99 born Orleans, ON native is an exceptional skater with strong two-way ability who has elite explosiveness and pure play-making skills. Not the biggest guy but he bounces back quickly when he gets hit with great determination and passion.
This past season as a 16-year old, he registered 9 goals and 41 points in 64 games with the Jr Senators while also posting 2 goals and 5 points in 7 games with the OHL’s Kitchener Rangers.
This will be Meireles’s second time representing Team Canada after skating for Canada White in the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge back in November.
