Huge game by Tackett boosts Kemptville over Hawkesbury, 8-4

 

The Kemptville 73s' Jason Tackett had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 8-4 win over the Hawkesbury Hawks.

Tackett scored on the power play 5:43 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Kemptville. Kemptville had gained a power play chance when Jonathan Tecce was whistled for roughing. Adam Alavi assisted on the tally. Tackett dished an assist on Alavi's goal that made the score 2-1 Kemptville at 1:10 into the second period. He added another helper on Alex Row's goal that made the score 3-3 at 3:54 into the third period.

 

The 73s' penalty kill excelled, as Kemptville gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

The 73s' offense rang up 38 shots on Hawkesbury's net. Kemptville surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The 73s average 4.4 goals per game. Kemptville was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 16 penalty minutes.

Kemptville also got points from Alavi, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Owen Guy, who also had two goals and one assist, Matt Tugnutt, who also finished with two goals and two assists to lead the team in points, and Row, who also registered one goal and two assists. Kemptville also got a goal from Victor Tracy as well. More assists for Kemptville came via Jake Gaudet, who had two and Quinn Wichers, Dean Kiriacou, and Liam Watson, who contributed one each.

The 73s were unable to stop the Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Hawkesbury eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

The Hawks were helped by Brett Everson, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Everson scored 12:57 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Adriano Leone picked up the assist. Hawkesbury additionally got points from Leone, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Hawkesbury included Charles Levesque and Vinny Crivello, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Hawkesbury were Tom Nicholson, who had one and Jonathan Cyr, who had two.

Nicholas Hodgins made 30 saves for Kemptville on 34 shots. The 73s registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Hawkesbury's Jesse Michel stopped 30 shots out of the 36 that he faced. The Hawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
