Hicks Named CCM Player of the Week

Ottawa, Ont. — The Central Canada Hockey League announced Tuesday that Ottawa Jr. Senators goaltender Connor Hicks has been named CCM Player of the Week for Week 11 (Nov. 7-13).

The 1997-born Jr. Sens netminder stopped 66 of 67 shots faced en route to a pair of wins in his first two CCHL starts. The former major-junior goaltender’s stat line currently reads: 2-0, 0.48 GAA, .985 SV%.

Hicks, an uncommitted Kanata, Ont. native, pitched a 22-save shutout at Rockland (11/08) before stonewalling Nepean with a 44-save performance (11/12).

Honourable mentions went to Nepean goaltender Liam Souliere and Pembroke forward Matthew Barnaby.

Souliere, an uncommitted 1999-born puckstopper, stopped 87 of 90 shots including 53 in an upset win at CJHL No.-2 Carleton Place (11/10).

Barnaby, a 1998-born Lake Superior commit, registered six points (4G, 2A) over two games with the Lumber Kings, including a hat-trick at home against Rockland (11/12).
