Friday Recap | Six Games

Ottawa, Ontario – Friday night featured all 12 CCHL teams in action. Four high-scoring games and two close contests that came down to the wire.

F | Brockville 6, Kanata 1 

The Brockville Braves became the first CCHL team to eight wins and extended their winning streak to seven games at the BMC.

Emerick Nadeau scored two goals and tallied one assist for his first career three-point game. Nicholas Hawkins collected two apples and now has seven points (3G / 4 A) over his last five games.

The Kanata Lasers have now lost two straight after picking up a 7-1 win on September 23rd.  They were out-shot 46-23. Connor Sleeth scored his fourth of the year. Carriere made 40 saves in the loss.

F | Ottawa 5, Hawkesbury 3 

Darcy Walsh (2G) and  Conor Smart (1G/1A) lead the charge for the Ottawa Jr. Senators in their win at the Robert Hartley Sports Complex. 

Ottawa was leading 3-1 after two and got a much needed insurance goal when Owen Cole scored his third of the year. That ended up being the deciding goal with the Hawkesbury Hawks late push.

Hawkesbury out-shot Ottawa 41-33. Jeremie Lavallee scored his league leading eighth goal of the year and Jeremy Cote had 1G/1A in the loss.

F/SO | Cornwall 2, Smiths Falls 1

The Cornwall Colts received a spectacular performance from their goaltender Michael Carr who made a season high 54 saves.

David A Poirier tied things up for the Colts late in the third before Konnor MacCormick scored the shootout winner. Cornwall improves their record to 4-6 and have now won four of their last five games.

The Smiths Falls Bears do get a point in the loss. They are now 0-2 in shootouts this year. Jack Ryan made 23 saves and Reid Russett scored his first career goal.

F/OT | Kemptville 3, Nepean 2

Cameron McLean gave the Kemptville 73’s the win with the overtime winner. He now five goals and seven points in just nine games. He now leads a D-men in goals scored.

Kemptville also snaps their three-game skid. John Beaton tallied 1G/1A, adding to his league leading 12 assists.

The Nepean Raiders were out-shot 44-25. Beau Binnie tied the game, 2-2, just over four minutes into the third period. Their two-game winning streak comes to an end.

F | Rockland 4, Navan 1

The Rockland Nationals scored three unanswered goals in the second period to defeat the Navan Grads at the CIHA Arena.

Jean-Sylvain Boyer scored his fifth goal of the season and Josh Péladeau netted his first with the Nats. Rockland improves their record to 5-5-1.

The Grads fall to 2-8-0-1. They were out-shot 32-30.  Alexandre Way picked up his eighth assist of the season in the loss. 

F | Carleton Place 4, Pembroke 1

The Carleton Place Canadians scored three straight goals in the final period to come away with their seventh win of the year. CP out-shot the Pembroke Lumber Kings 56-18 and went 1-for-7 on the power-play while Pembroke went 1-for-2.

David Gagnon scored his third, Ben Tupker netted his second and Cade Townend put the game away with the empty netter. They have now won four straight games, outscoring opp (16 GF / 5 GA).

Meanwhile, Pembroke’s only marker came from Malcolm Arseneau – who scored his sixth of the year and collected his league leading 15th overall point. This also snaps their six game winning streak, which started back on September 3rd.
