Neil Doef had two goals and two assists to lead the Smiths Falls Bears to a 6-3 victory over the Pembroke Lumber Kings.
Doef found the back of the net short handed 10:35 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Smiths Falls and again while 10:20 into the third to make the score 5-3 Smiths Falls.
Pembroke's power play was ineffective against Smiths Falls' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.
Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 7:13 into the first period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.
The Bears racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 13 minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. Smiths Falls surpassed its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game.
