Day 9 Blog | Junior Club World Cup | Preparing for final round-robin game

Sochi, RU – After an off-day on Tuesday, where the team and staff enjoyed some sunshine and waves, the CCHL Ottawa Capitals were back on the ice early Wednesday morning to keep the pedal to the metal and continue to work on their team systems.

After dropping the tournament opener to Lokomotiv (Russia) on Saturday, the Capitals got into the win column on Monday, defeating Jokerit (Finland) 6-3.  With the first win on the board, the Capitals now prepare for their final round-robin game Vs Kunlun Red Star (China), who they will face tomorrow (Thursday) at 12:00PM (5:00AM ET).

After practice, the team headed back to to their hotel for a meal, followed by a video session with the coaching staff, and a little rest.

The players and staff then took in an All-Star Game at the Shayba Arena where such pros as Evgeni Malkin, Ilya Kovalchuk, Alex Radulov, as well as Hockey Hall-of-Famers Jari Kurri and Teemu Selanne took part in.

Back at the hotel for the night, it was lights out, as the team looks to finish their round-robin schedule strong tomorrow Vs Kunlun Red Star and clinch a berth in the Semi Final which goes Saturday.
