Corporate Hype/CCM Player/Goalie/Rookie of the Month

The Central Canada Junior A Hockey League (CCHL) is pleased to announce the Corporate Hype/CCM Player/Goalie/Rookie of the Month awards for October. The Player of the Month is Ryan Kuffner of the Gloucester RangersKuffner has had a memorable couple of weeks, recently earning both CCHL Player of the Week and Gongshow Academic Player of the Month honors. He was also selected to represent the Yzerman Division All-Stars in the upcoming Central Canada Cup. The Ranger forward accumulated 23 (11G, 12A) points in 11 games this month while earning four game stars for his performance. The Princeton University commit is currently tied for first in overall league scoring with 37 (19G, 18A) points in 24 games. The Goalie of the Month honor goes to Carleton Place Canadians Guillaume Therien. The Canadians goaltender led last year’s CCHL league Champions and currently the 3rd ranked team in the country to a 9-2 month. Therien was a perfect 5-0 boasting an outstanding 1.40 Goals Against, a .944 Save Percentage and 1 Shutout. The Mirabel, QC native is leading all CCHL goalies in every category with 13 wins, a 1.97 Goals Against and .932 Save PercentageThe Rookie of the Month for October is Cumberland Grads defenseman Nicolas Mattinen. The 1998, 6’3” 222lb defenseman is establishing his presence on the blue-line for the Grads playing in every situation including point on the powerplay. The Orleans, ON native picked up 6 (1G, 5A) points in 8 games and continues to improve with every outing.
