CCHL teams shoot up national rankings

It was a stellar week for the Central Canada Hockey League, as two of its flagship franchises shot up the CJHL national Top-20 rankings.

The Carleton Place Canadians, fresh off a three-for-three week which saw them outscore opponents 15-4, rose one spot from No. 6 to No. 5.

At 18-2-1, Jason Clarke’s Canadians are off to one of the best starts in the league’s recent memory, and boast a number of Division-I calibre players. Carleton Place has rattled off nine-straight wins, outshooting opponents by at least 10 in all of those contests and breaking the 50-shot mark three times.

The Ottawa Jr. Senators had two key pieces return from the injured reserve this week in the form of forward Owen Guy and defenceman Adrien Bisson, and saw immediate returns.

Marty Dagenais’s Jr. Sens (14-3-2) earned two solid wins over Nepean (5-3) and Kanata (7-1) and shot up the national rankings from No. 20 to No. 14.
