CCHL Recap | Wolves, Raiders and Junior Senators Win Wednesday Evening

 

Ottawa, ON – Wednesday evening the Renfrew Wolves hosted the Brockville Braves, after 60-minutes the Wolves take the game 6-3. The Nepean Raiders hosted the Pembroke Lumber Kings, the Raiders win 4-2 in 60-minutes. The Ottawa Junior Senators hosted the Cornwall Colts, for a 2-1 Junior Senators win.

 

F | Brockville 3 Renfrew 6

Renfrew dominated the first period, with goals from Hunter McKnight and Jack Dolan. The second period saw Renfrew extending their lead with goals from Ethan Smith and Andrew Morton, while Brockville’s Ryan McNally managed to net one. The intensity continued into the third period as Owen Watson and Nicholas Esposito scored for Brockville, but Renfrew sealed the victory with goals from Dane Carter and Jack Dolan. Goaltender Zane Spaniol of Brockville showcased impressive skills with 28 saves, while Renfrew’s Viacheslav Gordeichuk secured the win with 23 saves.

F | Pembroke 2 Nepean 4

Pembroke took an early lead in the first period, courtesy of goals from Liam Cardiff and Eric Barnard. However, Nepean mounted a comeback in the second period, as Curtiss Sturgeon and Peter Freel found the back of the net, shifting the momentum in their favour. The third period saw Nepean extending their lead with goals from Brandon Reinisch and Curtiss Sturgeon, securing the win. Despite Pembroke goaltender Conor Waldron’s impressive 35 saves, Nepean goaltender Brady McEwan made 21-saves

F | Cornwall 1 Ottawa 2

The first period set the tone as Lucas Leblanc and Anthony Menard netted goals for Ottawa, while Ethan Montroy responded for Cornwall. The intensity persisted into the second and third periods, but neither team managed to break the deadlock. Goaltender Xander Miceli of Cornwall made 27-saves. On the other end, Ottawa’s Connor Shibley made 26 -saves.
