CCHL Recap | Wolves, Bears, Colts, Grads and 73’s Win Sunday Games

Ottawa, ON – It was a busy Sunday in the Central Canada Hockey League, with four afternoon games and one evening matchup. The Renfrew Wolves traveled to the Pembroke Lumber Kings, and took home a 6-3 win. The Smiths Falls Bears went to see the Nepean Raiders, which ended in a Bears 6-4 win. The Cornwall Colts traveled to meet the Carleton Place Canadians, the Colts get a 2-0 shutout. The Navan Grads hosted the Ottawa Junior Senators, the Grads take the game in 60-minutes winning 3-2. The Kemptville 73’s hosted the Brockville Braves, where the 73’s won 4-2.

F | Renfrew 6 Pembroke 3

In the 1st period, Jack Dolan and Emmitt Robillard scored for Renfrew, countered by Vital Dinis for Pembroke. The 2nd period saw Pembroke’s Kyle Cameron and Renfrew’s Dane Carter netting goals. The 3rd period featured goals from Sutton Murray (Pembroke) and Aaron Enright/Joshua Penney (Renfrew). Goaltender Viacheslav Gordeichuk shone with 39 saves for Renfrew, while Kevin Jones (25 saves) and Conor Waldron (11 saves) tended the net for Pembroke.

F | Smiths Falls 6 Nepean 4

Nepean’s Owen Hardy scored in the 1st, answered by Matthew Martin-Gaudreault/Tyson Parker for Smiths Falls. The 2nd period had Nepean’s Peter Freel (2 goals) and Smiths Falls’ Trevor Faucher/Matthew Martin-Gaudreault. In the 3rd, Trevor Faucher/Finnegan Kilmurray (Smiths Falls) and Joshua Reid (Nepean) added goals. Goaltender Dax Easter made 23 saves for Smiths Falls, and John Gedraitis made 29 saves for Nepean.

F | Cornwall 2 Carleton Place 0

Cornwall’s Kobe Tallman scored in the 1st. Bradley Fraser secured the win in the 3rd period. Goaltender Xander Miceli made 27 saves for Cornwall, while Ian Vandenberg stopped 31 shots for Carleton Place.

F | Ottawa 2 Navan 3

Jordan Graham (Ottawa) and Gabriel Crete/Shaan Kingwell/Colin Holmes (Navan) scoring in the 1st period. Jordan Graham added another in the 2nd. Goaltender Will Mizenko made 6 saves for Ottawa, replaced by Connor Shibley (30 saves), while Navan’s Haydn Gould made 26 saves.

F | Brockville 2 Kemptville 3

Kemptville dominated the first period with goals from Nicholas Bennett and Tyler Melvin, answered by Ben Sutton for Brockville. The action continued in the second period as Kimani Eccleston scored for Brockville, but Kemptville responded with goals from Emile Trottier and Matthew O’Doherty. The third period remained scoreless. Goaltenders played a crucial role, with Brockville’s Dustin Riff making an impressive 30 saves, while Kemptville’s Maxwell Ilecki stood strong with 24 saves
