CCHL Recap | Lumber Kings and Grads Win Wednesday Night

Ottawa, ON – This Wednesday evening the Pembroke Lumber Kings hosted the Navan Grads, after 60-minutes the Lumber Kings won on home ice 6-4. The Smiths Falls Bears visited the Ottawa Junior Senators, where the Bears won 1-0.

Pembroke’s Liam Cardiff opened the scoring in the first period, countered by Navan’s Devon Savignac and Sebbie Johnson. Pembroke dominated the second period with goals from Charlie Blewett, Sutton Murray, and Cam Hicklin. In the third period, Nicholas Paone and Cristobal Tola scored for Navan, but Pembroke’s Ryan Parent and Cam Hicklin sealed the win. Goaltender Jaeden Nelson of Navan made 28 saves, while Pembroke’s Kevin Jones displayed a stellar performance with 36 saves.

The lone goal came in the first period courtesy of Travis Ouellette for Smiths Falls. The second and third periods saw no further scoring, as both teams battled defensively. Goaltender Dawson Labre of Smiths Falls played a pivotal role, making 28 saves to secure the shutout. On the opposing end, Ottawa’s netminder Will Mizenko put up a strong performance with 27 saves.
