CCHL Recap | Hawks and Lumber Kings Win Wednesday Evening

Ottawa, ON – The Hawkesbury Hawks traveled to visit the Kemptville 73’s, where after 60-minutes the Hawks won 4-1. The Pembroke Lumber Kings visited the Ottawa Junior Senators, where the Lumber Kings won 5-1.

The first period saw Remi Gagne opening the scoring for Hawkesbury. The momentum continued into the second period with Aidan Stubbings, Remi Gagne and Brayden Besner all finding the back of the net. Kemptville managed to break through in the third period with a goal from Matthew O’Doherty. Hawkesbury’s goaltender Caleb Chabot made 35 saves, while Kemptville’s Jacob Biron stopped 22 shots.

Liam Lucas scored first for Ottawa, but Pembroke quickly responded with Sutton Murray’s goal. In the second period, Pembroke got goals from Easton Penna, Cam Hicklin and Cole Foley all finding the net. The third period saw Alex Fortier extending Pembroke’s lead. Pembroke’s goaltender Kevin Jones made 32 saves. Ottawa’s starting goaltender Connor Shibley made 7 saves before being replaced by Will Mizenko, who stopped 16 shots.
