Ottawa, ON – On Sunday afternoon two semi final games took place in the Central Canada Hockey League. The Navan Grads won against the Rockland Nationals 1-0. The Smiths Falls Bears won against the Cornwall Colts 6-1. The finals of the Bogart Cup will be the Navan Grads versus the Smiths Falls Bears.

The first and second periods saw both teams locked in a stalemate, with neither able to find the back of the net. However, in the decisive third period, Navan’s Cristobal Tola broke the deadlock with a crucial goal. Despite a valiant effort from Rockland’s goaltender Benoit Forget, who made an impressive 27 saves, Navan’s Jaeden Nelson stood tall between the pipes, turning away 34 shots to secure the win.

In a blistering first period, Trevor Faucher, Lucas Culhane, Quinn Booth, and Travis Ouellette powered Smiths Falls to an early lead. Brayden Bowen managed to notch one for Cornwall in the second period, but it wasn’t enough to shift momentum. In the final frame, Alec Hamady and Tyson Parker sealed the win for Smiths Falls with two additional goals. Cornwall’s goaltenders, Donald Hickey and Xander Miceli, faced a relentless offensive onslaught, making a combined 37 saves. On the other end, Smiths Falls’ Dawson Labre stood tall with 26 saves, securing the win.
