CCHL Recap | Braves, Hawks and Nationals Win Friday Evening

Ottawa, ON – In the Central Canada Hockey League, there was three games in session for a Friday evening. Before we head on Holiday break, the Brockville Braves hosted the Kemptville 73’s where the Braves win 3-2. The Hawkesbury Hawks hosted the Smiths Falls Bears, the Hawks end the game in 60-minutes by a score of 3-1. The Rockland Nationals hosted the Carleton Place Canadians, where the Nationals won 11-4 earning 2-points.

The first period saw no scoring action, but the intensity heightened in the second. Kemptville’s Emilie Trottier and Ryan Rutley found the net, countered by Lucas Culhane for Brockville. The third period proved decisive as Lucas Culhane showcased his prowess with two more goals for Brockville. Despite a valiant effort from Kemptville’s goaltender Jacob Biron, who made 27 saves, it was Brockville’s Dustin Riff who stood firm with 25 saves, securing the win.

F | Smiths Falls 1 Hawkesbury 3

The first period saw a defensive deadlock, but the action intensified in the second. Smiths Falls’ Jackson Heron broke the ice, only to be answered by Hawkesbury’s Remi Gagne and Alex Fournier. The third period sealed the win for Hawkesbury, with Fournier notching another goal. Smiths Falls’ goaltender Dawson Labre exhibited resilience with 21 saves, while Hawkesbury’s netminder Dimitri Pelekos delivered a standout performance with an impressive 59 saves.

F | Carleton Place 4 Rockland 11

The first period saw Tystan-Felix Tremblay netting two goals for Rockland, while Bill Gourgon and William Bouwer responded for Carleton Place. The second period was all Rockland, with goals from Alex Kelloway, Samuel Dumont, Tystan-Felix Tremblay, Matthew Verspeeten, Aidan Dres, and Kyle Leonard. Ryder Dagenais managed to score for Carleton Place. The third period continued Rockland’s offensive onslaught, with Tremblay, Guillaume Labre, and Mathieu Paquin finding the net, while Ryder Dagenais added another for Carleton Place. Carleton Place goaltender Jackson Pundyk made 14 saves before being replaced by Aidan Feddema with 6 saves, while Rockland’s Patrick Charette turned away 21 shots.
