Ottawa, ON – Two series games took place Wednesday evening. The Smiths Falls Bears were in the Carleton Place Canadians territory, where the Bears took the game 5-2. The Pembroke Lumber Kingshad the Navan Grads in house, where after 60 minutes the Lumber Kings won 5-1.

Shaymus Stevenson opened the scoring for Smiths Falls in the 1st period, setting the tone for the game. In the 2nd period, Quinn Booth and Alec Hamady extended Smiths Falls’ lead, while Bill Gourgon and Loic Peudhomme responded for Carleton Place, keeping the game within reach. However, Smiths Falls pulled away in the 3rd period with goals from Owen Watson and Lucas Culhane, securing their victory. Goaltender Dawson Labre of Smiths Falls was solid in net, making 28 saves, while Aidan Feddema of Carleton Place made 25 saves in a commendable effort.

The 1st period remained scoreless, but Pembroke took control in the 2nd period with goals from Cam Hicklin, Kyle Cameron, and Alex Fortier. Colin MacDougall responded for Navan, but Pembroke maintained their lead. In the 3rd period, Pembroke continued their offensive onslaught with goals from Cam Hicklin and Eric Barnard, sealing the win. Goaltender Jaeden Nelson of Navan faced 35 shots and made 28 saves, while Kevin Jones of Pembroke stopped 28 shots to secure the victory.
