CCHL Recap | Bears and Canadians Win Sunday Games

Ottawa, ON – Sunday afternoon kicked off with the Smiths Falls Bears traveling to visit the Nepean Raiders where the Bears took the game 4-1. The Carleton Place Canadians hosted the Kemptville 73’s where in a shootout, the Canadians won 4-3.

The action kicked off in the 1st period with Hunter O’Brien scoring for Smiths Falls. Nepean retaliated in the 2nd period with a goal from Oliver Band, but Shaymus Stevenson answered back with two goals for Smiths Falls. The momentum continued into the 3rd period, with Lucas Culhane sealing the victory for Smiths Falls. Goalie Dawson Labre for Smiths Falls, made 22 saves, while John Gedraitis of Nepean made 38 saves.

F | Kemptville 3 Carleton Place 4 (SO)

The 1st period saw Carleton Place’s Kyle Kudrna, Caton Ryan, and Thomas Enrietto finding the net. Kemptville answered in the 2nd with goals from Avry Shaw and Trey Wandall. Emile Trottier leveled the score for Kemptville in the 3rd period, leading to overtime without scoring. In the shootout, Carleton Place’s Caton Ryan and Aidan Cooper secured the win. Goaltender Jacob Biron, of Kemptville, made 6 saves before being replaced by Dax Easter, who made 31 saves. Carleton Place’s Ian Vandenberg made 28 saves.
