Carleton Place outlasts Kemptville, 4-3

 

The Carleton Place Canadians and the Kemptville 73s were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Carleton Place made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Will LeNeave at 9:29 of the third period.

 

Shawn Kennedy had one goal and two assists to lead the Canadians. Kennedy scored 51 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Carleton Place. Nicolas Carrier provided the assist.

Carleton Place's offense rang up 33 shots on Kemptville's net.

Carleton Place also had goals scored by Lucas Batt and Bryce VanHorn, who each put in one. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Matt Lombardozzi, who had one and Alex Robinson, who had two.

The 73s kept the Canadians' goalie busy throughout the game, and Colton Point made 38 saves on 41 shots.

Kemptville was led by Alex Row, who registered one goal and one assist. Row scored 4:03 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Bobby Dow assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Kemptville included Jason Tackett and Jake Gaudet, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Kemptville were Dean Kiriacou, who had one and Cameron Russell, who had two.

Carleton Place incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Peter Brooks made 29 saves for the 73s on 33 shots. Kemptville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
