Carleton Place downs Pembroke, 4-0

 

Alex Friesen tallied one point to lead the Carleton Place Canadians to a 4-0 victory over the Pembroke Lumber Kings.

 

The win by Carleton Place clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

The Canadians put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Pembroke to score on any of its five power plays.

Carleton Place additionally got points from Connor Merkley, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Brett Murray, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Carleton Place also got a goal from Braedyn Asselstine as well. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Owen Grant, Geoff Kitt, and Nicolas Carrier, who each chipped in one.

The Lumber Kings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Carleton Place power plays.

Carleton Place's Colton Point stopped 24 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Canadians incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Boyd Diclemente made 19 saves for Pembroke on 23 shots. The Lumber Kings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
