Brockville boosted by Taylor's play in net, beats Kanata 4-1

 

The Brockville Braves relied on the sparkling performance of Bo Taylor in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Kanata Stallions.

 

Brockville pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 12 penalty minutes.

The Braves were sparked by Liam Folkes, who finished with one goal. Folkes scored on the power play 19:59 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Brockville. Brockville earned a power play opportunity when Dylan Mascarin was put in the box for too many men. Landon Gareau assisted on the tally.

The Braves excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Kanata was unable to stop Brockville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Braves eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Brockville additionally got points from Jack Billings, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Dylan McCrory, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Brockville also got a goal from Tristan Whynot as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Neil Robinson, Sean King, and Andrew Jarvis, who each chipped in one.

The Stallions were led by Ian Johnston, who scored the team's only goal. Johnston scored 11:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kanata. Tyler ONeill picked up the assist.

Taylor recorded 27 saves for Brockville. The Braves registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Kanata's Brian Wilson stopped 34 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Stallions incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
