The Central Canada Hockey League and Brockville Braves are proud to announce that Reid Murphy has made a commitment to attend CIS Dalhousie University this coming fall.

Murphy, who is a native of Stittsville, ON played four seasons in the CCHL where he suited up for Kanata, Pembroke, Cumberland, Hawkesbury, Nepean and finished up this past season with Brockville.  In 211 combined regular season and playoff games, the 6-4, 186 lb two-way forward tallied 38 goals and totaled 126 points.

Before his time in the CCHL, Murphy spent his 16-year old season with the Arnprior Packers of the CCHL2 where he had 5 goals and 24 points in 43 games.

Murphy will now prepare for his post-junior career at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS as a member of the Tigers Hockey Program.  He is the second CCHL skater to join the program as Hawkesbury Hawks Jonathan Cyr did so back in March.

I am honoured and extremely excited to continue my career at Dalhousie University,” said Murphy.  “I couldn’t be happier with this opportunity, both academically and athletically.  I would like to thank all my coaches, teammates and my family for the support along the way.  I'll cherish the friends and memories I've made playing junior hockey forever.
