Brockville Braves goaltender Henry “Hank” Johnson has added yet another accolade to his hockey resume.  With his shut-out last night over the Carleton Place Canadians, he has taken sole possession of the CCHL All-Time Career shutout record with 10.

Last season, the ’96 born Minneapolis, MN native set the CCHL single season record with 9 “no-no’s” while also tying the all-time record with Mitch O’Keefe, Ian Adams, Tyler Chestnut, Paul Beckwith, and Scott Shackell who all finished their careers with 9.

The Braves goaltender almost broke the record two weeks back in a game against the Pembroke Lumber Kings but would be scored on with just under two minutes remaining.

From the Brockville Recorder

Johnson said he let out a sigh of relief after three Canadians came crashing into the net with the puck laying right in front of him with about a minute left in Friday’s game. Fortunately, Johnson was just a little bit quicker and jumped on the puck to stop play.

Johnson added, after getting swept by Carleton Place in last year’s playoffs, it made the career shutout record just a little bit sweeter that it came against the defending champs.

“If I had (a shutout) going late in the third period I would think about,” Johnson said about trying to overcome the record for so long.
