BRAVES GRAB WIN, TAKE 2-0 SERIES LEAD

The win moved Brockville Braves to down two-zero in the best of seven series.

Cumberland Grads's power play was ineffective against Brockville's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Braves stifled Cumberland 's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.Brockville kept Grads's goalie busy throughout the game, and Thierry Messervier made 36 saves on 42 shots.

Braves were helped by Eric Faith, who grabbed two goals.Faith scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 15:13 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Cumberland . Andrew Jarvis claimed the first assist on the goal, and Ian Johnston got the second. Faith's next tally on the power play made the score 4-4 in the third period. Michael Murray and Jarvis registered the assists on the goal.Brockville additionally got points from Liam Folkes, who also registered one goal and two assists , Jack Billings, who also registered one goal and two assists , and Johnston, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brockville also had goals scored by Thomas Dunleavy, who had one and Faith, who had two. In addition, Brockville received assists from Cameron Crotty and Jarvis, who each chipped in two and Neil Robinson and Murray, who contributed one apiece.

Cumberland kept Brockville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Henry Johnson made 31 saves on 35 shots.

Grads were led by DAndre John, who registered one goal and one assist.John scored in the first period to make the score 1-0 Cumberland . The goal was assisted by Michael Larose and Raphael Larose.Others who scored for Cumberland included Joey Sollazzo, Martin Frechette, and Ted McCabe, who each put in one. More assists for Cumberland came via Larose, who had two and Larose, Shawn Cameron, Branden Makara, and Marc-Olivier Bouchard, who each chipped in one.

Braves incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Cumberland ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major. For Grads, McCabe was ejected from the game.
