September Performers of the Month Presented by CCM

Ottawa, Ontario – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce it’s CCM Performers of the Month for September.

Pembroke Lumber Kings forward Malcolm Arseneau is the Player of the Month, Brockville Braves goaltender Liam Souliere takes home the Goalie of the Month and Smiths Falls Bears winger Ryan Richardson earns the Rookie of the Month award.

Player of the Month: Malcolm Arseneau – Pembroke Lumber Kings

Arseneau, 20, scored six goals and nine assists, for 15 points this month. The Fredericton, NB, native currently leads the CCHL in points with 15, one infront of John Beaton of the Kemptville 73’s. He also posted four multi-point games this month and recently had his five game point-streak snapped.

Honorable Mentions: John Beaton – Kemptville 73’s and Jeremie Lavallee – Hawkesbury Hawks

Beaton, 18, posted two goals and 12 assists, giving himself 14 points in 10 games. He is second in the league in points and leads the league in apples.

Lavallee, 20, is tied for first in goals after scoring eight goals in nine games this month. The uncommitted forward is third in points with 13 this year.

Goalie of the Month: Liam Souliere – Brockville Braves

Souliere, 19, went 7-0 in September posting a league leading 0.99 GAA and CCHL best .964 SV %. The Blainville, QC, native had one shut-out and only had to make 30 or more saves twice, stooping 30 or less in five starts.

Honorable Mentions: Connor Murphy – Carleton Place Canadians and Matthew Petizian – Hawkesbury Hawks

Murphy, 20, had a 1.69 GAA, .930 SV % and a 7-2 record in September. The uncommitted goalie’s save percentage ranks third in the CCHL while his goals against average is second.

Petizian, 19, went 5-2, 2.25 GAA and .929 SV %, making 30 or more saves three times. The Mississauga, Ontario, native posted a shut-out against Pembroke and won his first four starts.

Rookie of the Month: Ryan Richardson – Smiths Falls Bears

Richardson, 17, leads all rookies in points with seven and goals with four after one month. The Stittsville, Ontario, native also had two power-play points and one game winning goal, helping the Bears to a 3-5 start.

Honorable Mentions: Yanic Crete – Hawkesbury Hawks and David Lafrance – Rockland Nationals

Crete, 16, tallied four points over five games this month. The Ottawa 67’s Prospect has recorded all of his points in his last three games, scoring his first career goal on Sunday.

Lafrance, 17, is tied for first among all rookie defencemen with four points. He scored his first CCHL goal on September the 2nd against Brockville after playing parts of three seasons with the Nationals organization as a AP.
