The Central Canada Hockey League and Kemptville 73’s are pleased to announce that ’97 born D Nicholas Bissonnette will play hockey next season at the CIS level for the Royal Military College in Kingston, ON.

The 5-10, 190 lb Waterloo, Ontario native recently completed his first and only season with the 73’s where he finished 5th overall in team scoring with 21 points (4G, 17A) in 58 games of action.  He would add another 5 points (2G, 3A) in 12 playoff games.

Before his time in the CCHL, the two-way defenseman spent three seasons at the Culver Military Academy in Culver, Indiana.

“Nick came to us from Culver Academy,” said 73’s Head Coach Ron Tugnutt.  “We liked his calm demeanour and steady play in our camps.  He was willing to battle when needed and was a great team guy on and off the ice.  I only had the pleasure of coaching Nick for one season but I found him to be a very conscientious and hard-working player.  He was well liked and respected in the dressing room, his leadership will be greatly missed next year.”

Bissonnette will join the Paladins Hockey Program which is already home to such CCHL alumni as F Owen Gill (Brockville Braves), D Colton Keuhl (Pembroke Lumber Kings), F Deric Boudreau (Ottawa Jr Senators), F Dylan Giberson (Kemptville 73’s), and D Michael Keenan (Nepean Raiders).
