Veillette Named Gongshow First Star of October

Ottawa, Ont. — The Central Canada Hockey League announced its Gongshow Three Stars of the Month for October on Wednesday.

Ottawa Jr. Senators forward Pierre-Luc Veillette earned first-star honours, while Hawkesbury Hawks goaltender Matthew Petizian and Carleton Place Canadians forward Samuel Knoblauch earned second- and third-star honours respectively.

Veillette, 20, posted 17 points (8G, 9A) in 11 games during the month of October; the uncommitted Drummondville, Que. native now sits third in the CCHL in points (27) and second in goals (15).

Petizian, 19, recorded three shutouts and five wins in seven October starts for the Hawks; the uncommitted Mississauga, Ont. native is now third in the league in both goals-against average (2.03) and save-% (.930).

Knoblauch, 19, registered 18 points (6G, 12A) in 11 October contests; the uncommitted Rochester, Mich. native leads the CCHL in points (36), assists (24) and points-per-game (1.57).
