Thursday Recap: Lasers win big

Kanata 7, Kemptville 3

A third-period explosion helped the Kanata Lasers claim a 7-3 victory over the visiting Kemptville 73’s on Thursday night at the KRC.

Jack Quinn and Ryan Bunka tallied a combined eight points in the win for Nathan Hewitt’ Lasers (12-12-3) returned to .500 with the win over the last-place 73’s (5-22-1).

Joel Frazee had a goal in the loss for Kemptville, giving him three in as many contests since being dealt by Hawkesbury.

Carleton Place 3, Cornwall 2

A late Geoff Kitt empty-net goal proved to be the winner as the Carleton Place Canadians edged the Cornwall Colts 3-2 on Thursday night.

Mike Leach stopped 22 of 24 shots faced en route to the win for the first-place Canadians (25-2-2); Liam Lascelle was saddled with the loss for Cornwall (12-12-3) despite allowing just two goals on 34 shots.
