Ottawa, Ont. — The Ottawa Jr. Senators made another splash on Wednesday afternoon, announcing the acquisition of goaltender Connor Hicks from the Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) in exchange for a PDF.
Hicks, 20, spent the last three-plus seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with Belleville, Hamilton, Flint and Sault Ste. Marie.
The Kanata, Ont. native has appeared in 104 career OHL games — most recently three this season with the Greyhounds.
The acquisition of the 6-foot-4 goaltender coincided with the Jr. Sens dealing standout rookie goaltender Gabriel Carriere — a Kingston Frontenacs prospect — to the Kanata Lasers.
Hicks is expected to dress in Ottawa’s game tonight against Carleton Place as the backup to Francis Boisvert.
