Release | Wolves Tyson Tomasini named recipient of 2022-23 Arthur K Nielsen Award

 

OTTAWA, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce that Renfrew Wolves forward Tyson Tomasini has been named the 2022-23 Arthur K Nielsen Award recipient as Academic Player of the Year. 

The 2002 born Cobden, ON native, who will be continuing his academic and athletics at Nipissing University in North Bay this coming Fall, is currently completing the Police Foundations program at Algonquin college.

At Algonquin, he is a top honour student with a 3.87 Cumulative GPA across two terms, carrying a 3.90 GPA in his second term. He has an A+ in such courses as Introduction to Sociology, Introduction to Psychology, Interpersonal and Group Dynamics, Fitness II & III, and Investigation & Evidence.

On the ice, Tomasini finished second in the CCHL scoring race with 82 points (34G, 48A) in 55 games of action.

Overall, Tomasini is a model student athlete as his academic prowess combined with his high calibre play on the ice separated him from the rest of the competitive field.
