WEEKEND RECAP I Pink in the Rink dominates weekend slate of games

Ottawa, ON- Busy weekend of games sees some wild and crazy action.

Saturday October 26th

Hawkesbury 5 Ottawa 1

The Hawks picked up their 2nd win in as many days thanks to a quick 4 goals in the first period (Jette-1st, Downey-6th, Gagne-5th & Charbonneau-7th).   The teams then traded goals in the 3rd (Matsukobo-9th and Besner- 8th).

Renfrew 4 Cornwall 0

The Wolves may have been wearing pink but there play was red hot as they got some secondary scoring to defeat the Colts (Luas-2nd, Jamfa Jr-1st & 2nd, and Lucas-3rd).   In the loss, Colts goaltender Caleb Chabot made 24 saves.

INCREDIBLE STAT:  This game featured not one penalty issued to either team.    A feat that does not happen often.

Sunday October 27th

Nepean 6 Renfrew 0

In what was a quick turnaround for the Wolves, 2nd game in 24 hours, the Raiders took full advantage.  They scored early and often to get their 2nd win in a row.    The Raiders got goals from Turcotte- 5th, Freel-6th, Benoit- 8th and 9th, Konobelj-3rd & Campbell-9th.

Carleton Place 3 Kemptville 2

Quick starts were the name of the game on this day, and Carleton Place jumped on that ship.    With goals from Bouwer- 4th, Neil-2nd and Barton-6th, they grabbed the lead and hung on despite the 73’s pressure.   The 73’s got goals from Graves-5th and McDougall-5th.

Navan 5 Smiths Falls 4

After defeating the #1 team Friday night, the Grads keep their momentum rolling in a tight checking offensive battle with the Bears.   The Grads big guns came out firing as Johnson-8th, Holmes-10th, Kingwell-13th, Marcellino-13th and Latreille-5th found the back of the net.    The Bears got goals from Parker-7th and 8th, Ashcroft-2nd, and Ouellette-8th.

Rockland 5 Pembroke 4

The Nats, who saw their winning streak snapped Friday, kept their points streak alive with a tight game vs Pembroke.   The Nats got goals from Turnbull- 2nd, Tremblay-8th & 9th, Myloserdnyy- 6th and Tellier-4th.   For the Lumber Kings, sniper Jasyon Alegria-14th, with three others getting their 1st; newcomer Liam Donovan, Alex Fortier and Daniil Viscu.
