Week 18 Power-Rankings

  1. Carleton Place Canadians (37-4-3) (CJHL #2) | LW: 1 (–) | Results: 2-1L at OJS, 5-3W vs BRO | Despite the loss to OJS, the Carleton Place Canadians continued their #cpcstyle of hockey, outshooting Ottawa 38-32 but ultimately went 0-7 on the power-play which might have cost them the game. Over they bounced back with a 5-3 victory over Brockville on Sunday and remain number one in the power-rankings.

 

  1. Ottawa Jr. Senators (33-6-3) (CJHL #6) | LW: 2 (–) | Results: 2-1W vs CP, 5-3W at NAV | In Ottawa’s mind they sleighed the dragon (CPC) on Saturday and you should give the credit for that. But they are a close number one in the CCHL power-rankings but still remain number two despite their 2-0 week.

 

  1. Kanata Lasers (22-13-5) | LW: 3 (-) | Results: 2-0W vs HAW, 4-2W at NEP | The Lasers started the break the way they left it with a 2-0 week. They remain number three in the power-rankings because of Ottawa’s 2-0 week.

 

  1. Cornwall Colts (22-15-5) | LW: 5 (+1) | Results: 6-3L vs ROC, 4-1W at ROC, 6-5OTW vs KEM | The Cornwall Colts are now 8-2 since December 1st and move up to number three in the power-rankings.

 

  1. Brockville Braves(22-15-2) | LW: 4 (-1) | Results: 5-3L at CP | The Braves are 4-2-1 since December 1st but have lost two straight games for the first time since mid-November. There loss against the Colts before the break puts them behind Cornwall.

 

  1. Hawkesbury Hawks(24-14-1) | LW: 5 (-) | Results: 2-0L at KAN, 3-1L at ROC | Give the Hawks credit for playing without a home rink for the first time since September. Despite losing two straight, Hawkesbury remains at number six.

 

  1. Rockland Nationals (19-20-3) | LW: 8 (+1) | Results: 6-3W at CRW, 4-1L vs CRW, 3-1W vs HAW | Rockland had an above average week, going 2-1 with two huge victories over Cornwall and Hawkesbury.

 

  1. Pembroke Lumber Kings(18-19-1) | LW: 7 (-1) Results | 4-2W vs SF | After losing seven straight contests in December the Lumber Kings have now won two straight games but slip down one spot biased off the week that Rockland had.

 

  1. Nepean Raiders (14-23-3) | LW: 10 (+1) | Results: 5-0W at NAV, 4-2L vs KAN | Nepean picked up a huge two points on Friday night in Navan but were unable to hold on to a victory on Sunday against Kanata. Their 1-1 week puts them at number nine.

 

  1. Smiths Falls Bears(15-23-4) | LW: 9 (-1) | Results: 1-0L vs KEM, 4-2L at PEM | The Bears drop one spot after a 0-2 week.

 

 

  1. Kemptville 73’s (11-31-2) | LW: 11 (-) | Results: 1-0W at SF, 6-5OTL at CRW | The 73’s started the week with a 1-0 win over Smiths Falls but were unable to hold onto a win over Cornwall on Sunday.

 

  1. Navan Grads (9-31-0) | LW: 12 (-) | Results: 5-0L vs NEP, 5-3L vs OJS | Navan as a lot of promise with the mix of veterans and young talent but can’t find a way to string together a few wins. They are now 0-10 since the start of November.
