Thursday Recap | Kanata and Cornwall Pick up Wins

Cornwall 6, Pembroke 2 

After Cornwall and Pembroke were tied 2-2 mid-way through the second period, the Colts scored two unanswered goals towards the end of the second frame and two more in the third to pick up the victory.

Liam Lascelle made 37 saves for his 18th win of the year. Pogue, Poirier and Shankar both had 1G/1A while Tanner added two assists in the win. It was Pogue’s first multi-point game since December 22nd. The Colts also have their two game losing streak snapped and are now 3-3 since the break.

In the Pembroke loss, Connor Warnholtz scored his 15 goal of the season. He has now scored in consecutive games for the forth time this season, which have all came since December 1st. The Lumber Kings have their two game winning streak snapped with the loss.

Kanata 5, Nepean 2

The Lasers only out shot the Raiders 26-18 for their 23rd win of the year. Also snapping their four game losing streak.

Chad Merrell led the way with two goals and one assist. That was his first goal since January 7th and first multi-point game since December 3rd which also came against Nepean.

In the loss, is now 2-2 since the break with both of those loses coming against Kanata.
