Just as it appeared Liam Lascelle had stolen the show with a 45-save performance for the hometown Cornwall Colts on Thursday night, Carleton Place’s Connor Hill scored the goal of the season (below) to earn the visitors a 4-3 overtime win.

Travis Broughman (two) and Tim Theocharidis had the other goals for the Canadians (9-1-1), while Cam Hebert, Jeremy Quesnel and Alec Vent scored for Cornwall (5-5-1).
The final shot tally was 49-14 in favour of the Canadians, who maintained their status atop the CCHL standings.
Kanata 3, Kemptville 2
Jack Quinn’s third-period insurance marker proved to be the difference at the KRC, where the Kanata Lasers held off a late push to edge the Kemptville 73’s 3-2.
Alex Johnston and Eric Sutherland also tallied in the win for Kanata (5-5-1), while Noah Rowe and Eric Conley had the goals in the loss for Kemptville (2-8-0).
Lasers goaltender Myles Hektor earned put in a first-star performance, turning aside 40 of 42 Kemptville shots to solidify the win.
