Thursday Recap | Cornwall and Brockville get wins

Ottawa, Ontario – The two games in action on Thursday night in the CCHL circuit featured the Cornwall Colts hosting the Smiths Falls Bears and the first place Brockville Braves in Kanata, playing the Lasers.

F | Cornwall 5, Smiths Falls 3

Tied 2-2 after two, Isaac Testani gave the Colts the lead with four minutes to play. Tate Leeson tied the game 3-3 two minutes later with his third of the season.

Just over a minute later after Smiths Falls tied it, David A Poirier brought the Colts back in front but this time it was for good after Quesnel scored the empty netter. Cornwall snaps their three game losing streak. Mulhearn and Quesnel each finished with 1G / 2 A.

For Smiths Falls, they have lost six straight games (0-4-2) since September 16th. Theo Todd had two goals and Tate Leeson had 1 G / 1 A.

F | Brockville 4, Kanata 3

The Brockville Braves were leading 4-1 after two periods. Kanata made it interesting when they scored two unanswered goals in the third but it wasn’t enough as the Braves get their ninth straight win.

Brockville is now the third CCHL team to ten wins. Nicholas Hawkins and Fred Allaire each had 1 G / 1 A in the win.

Shots were 30-26 in favor of the Lasers.
