Sunday featured another four pack of games across the league, two that carried strong performances in the crease while the others had the goal judges busy.

Ottawa Jr. Senators 3  Nepean Raiders 0

For the second time in three games it was an inner-city battle between the Raiders and Jr. Sens. Martin Dagenais group struck on the man advantage 11:21 into the first as Ethan Manderville was credited with his first of the season. Less than five minutes into period two it was the OJS popwerplay that did damage again, this time Malcolm Palmer with his 2nd. Orleans Ontario native Joshua Ward was exceptional making all 38 saves in the victory.

Smith’s Falls Bears 0  Navan Grads 3

Navan’s Brendan Brazeau continued to display his prowess for goals opening the scoring for the Grads at the 2:51 mark of the 2nd – his 3rd. In the 3rd Navan was able to add some insurance to the lead with Jackson Arcan netting his 2nd on the year. An empty netter short handed from Wil Murray put this one to bed as the Grads booked their 2nd win of the season – a shutout performance via Seth Carter who made all 20 stops.

Carleton Place Canadians 6  Rockland Nationals 1

CP was able to garner some revenge Sunday afternoon for their recent 2-1 loss to Rockland. It was an explosive first period for Carleton Place as they poured in five goals in the opening frame (Francis, Enebak, Enebak, Hromic, Sterrett). Keenan Reynolds got himself involved in the scoring 17:52 into the 2nd – his first of 2018. CP’s penalty kill was nearly impenetrable killing off 9 of 10 Rockland powerplay’s. The Nats were also stymied by the Canadians defence core only posting 11 shots in the game.

Kemptville 73’s 5  Pembroke Lumber Kings 7

This one folks was an absolute shootout. Cole Dennison buried his 1st to get the scoring started giving Kemptville a 1-0 lead. Malcolm Arseneau evened the scoring at the 14:37 mark of the opening frame – his 4th. Two late period goals from the Lumber Kings gave them a 3-2 advantage heading into the break. A strong 2nd period for the 73’s posting three goals (Kiefer, McLean, Fry) allowed them to retake the lead into the 2nd intermission. PLK stormed back in the 3rd with 3 unanswered (Arseneau, Warnholtz, Browne) to send their fans home with ear to ear smiles.
