Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce the Source for Sports Performers of the month for September.
Jayson Alegria of Pembroke Lumber Kings is the Skater of the Month. Benoit Forget of the Rockland Nationals earned Goaltender of the Month. Louie Marcellino of the Navan Grads received Rookie of the Month.
Skater of the Month | Jayson Alegria
The 2004 born New Rochelle, NY product has had a breakout start to his 2nd CCHL season. Through 7 games in September, Alegria has tallied a league tying 8 goals (9 pts in total) through 7 games. Last season, split between Renfrew and Pembroke, Alegria had 11 goals & 20 assists.
Goaltender of the Month | Benoit Forget
The 2004 born L’Ange Gardien, QC native has been a pleasant surprise through the teams six games of the season, and has been a big part of getting them to the top of the standings. Through 4 games played, Forget has a superb 0.98 GAA and a 0.957 save %, to go along with his 4-0 record and 1 shutout.
Rookie of the Month | Louie Marcellino
The 2005 born Westchester, NY forward has shot out the gate like a cannon. After the opening showcase, he had 3 goals for 4 points. It wasnt until the last week where Marcellino has started to find his groove. He has tallied 5 goals in his last 6 periods to be tied for the league lead with 8.
