Smiths Falls vanquishes Kemptville in shootout, 3-2 (1-0 SO)

 

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Smiths Falls Bears defeated the Kemptville 73s in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for five attempts between the teams.

 

Smiths Falls overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Bears trailed 2-1 after a goal by Kemptville's Shawn Cameron at 18:56 in the first period. Smiths Falls tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Karson McCartney at 5:07 in the second period.

The Bears' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Kemptville power plays.

Smiths Falls additionally got points from Taylor Henry, who also tallied one goal and one assist.

The 73s stifled Smiths Falls' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.
