Release | CCHL announces upcoming events schedule for 2006 born draft eligible players

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce its upcoming event schedule for the 2006 born draft eligible players.

PRE-DRAFT 2006 SHOWCASE CAMP

MARCH 6-7 AND/OR MARCH 13-14

The CCHL is pleased to host its annual pre-draft showcase series which is tentatively set for early-mid March of 2021. Given the uncertainty of the provincial and local status for hockey, the event may be held over one or two weekends and will consist of four full sixty-minute stop time scrimmage sessions for participants. We will be contacting AAA and AA players and families with a registration link and follow up when more details are available in the next few days.  Other players can register through our social media and website next week. There is no cost to register to hold your spot in the program should it be offered.

2021 BANTAM PROTECTED DRAFT

MARCH 16-17

The CCHL Bantam Protected Draft will be conducted solely on-line this year due to the current gathering restrictions.  The draft will be held March 16-17, 2021 and broadcasted on multiple platforms live.  We will have a Facebook Live event along with live results streaming on our website and social media. Plans are underway to create team ‘Zoom Rooms’ where selected players can join their teams and say hello in the 2020-21 way!

2006 PROSPECTS AAA SHOWCASE SERIES

MARCH 27-28 TO JUNE 5-6

Given the loss of a traditional season, we have undertaken steps to develop a 12-week program after the draft to provide additional training and scrimmage games to help offset the down periods from this season and enhance additional player development.  Selected players will be presented with an exciting opportunity to showcase their skills as they prepare for their upcoming season.  All games will be broadcast live on Hockey TV!

All on ice components are based solely and entirely on the necessary changes to current provincial policies.  Only a completely safe return will be considered.

Once that safe return is ensured, we look forward to hitting the ice and making up for lost time!
