Release | Canadians Elliott McDermott named 2019-20 Sportsmanship & Ability Award winner

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce that Carleton Place Canadians defenseman Elliott McDermott has been named the 2019-20 Sportsmanship & Ability Award recipient.

“Elliott’s dedication to how he lives his life away from the rink is 100 percent the reason why he is the player he is,” said Canadians Head Coach Jason Clarke. “This type of dedication takes a lot of hard work and discipline. He is a true leader and is very well respected by his teammates and our community as a whole. He is just a true gentleman to be around and is on the path to greatness.”

In 62 games this season, the Colgate University commit finished second in league defensemen scoring with 59-points (16G, 43A). The Kingston, ON native has totaled 105 points (30G, 75A) in 138 career regular season and playoff games with the Canadians.
