Release | Braves hire Randy Jones as new Head Coach

 

Brockville, ON – In a Press Conference Friday afternoon, the Brockville Braves announced the hiring of NHL Alumni Randy Jones as their new Head Coach as he will be taking over for the departed Jesse Winchester who has joined the NHL’s Ottawa Senators.

In his playing days, Jones spent parts of 8 seasons in the National Hockey League as a defenseman for the Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Winnipeg Jets. Prior to his time at the pro level, the Quispamsis, NB native played two seasons at NCAA Clarkson University, and was a teammate of Braves owner Dustin Traylen during the 2002-03 season when he was named an NCAA 1st-Team All-Star.

Since his retirement from professional hockey in 2014, Jones has spent three successful seasons as Head Coach of the Midget AAA Saint John Vitos in New Brunswick and is looking forward to joining the Braves and using his own experiences to help the organization continue developing players for the collegiate and professional levels.
