Ottawa, ON — A rare Tuesday night game proved to be an entertaining one as Rockland edges Smiths

Rockland edged Smiths Falls 3-2 in overtime, with Gagne scoring the game-winning power-play goal at 4:31 of the extra frame. The Nationals struck first with a short-handed goal by Laframboise early in the first, but Smiths Falls equalized in the second with Riopel’s tally before Rockland regained the lead on Turnbull’s power-play marker. Whitford tied it for Smiths Falls in the third, forcing overtime, where penalties proved costly for the Bears. Rockland capitalized on their second power-play opportunity of the game, finishing 2-for-3 with the man advantage. Forget stood tall in net for Rockland with 30 saves, while Morrow stopped 24 for Smiths Falls.
