RECAP | Rockland, Hawkesbury, Pembroke, Brockville & Smiths Falls All Winners Friday Night

Ottawa, ON – A busy Friday night schedule saw Rockland, Hawkesbury, Pembroke, Brockville and Smiths Falls come away with two points in the standings.

GAME RECAPS

Rockland 8 Nepean 1

The Rockland Nationals seemed to be on a mission last night and unfortunately the Raiders fell victim.   Nats F’s Alex Kelloway (4 assists) and Jacob Charron (2g,2a) led the way up front.   Goaltender Sean Hogan with a tidy 25 saves in the win.    For Nepean, Deklyn Campbell netted the lone marker in the loss.

Hawkesbury 3 Renfrew 0

In a game that featured 47 shots,  only 3 managed to squeak by the tendies.  Lucky for the Hawks they were all in their favor.   Brett Ruddy stopped all 40 he faced in picking up his 1st shutout of the season.  Nick Kurtiak made 36 saves in the loss.  Remi Gelinas continued his strong start as well for the Hawks picking up his 5th goal of the season in the win.

Pembroke 5 Navan 4

In the highest scoring affair of the night, the Pembroke Lumber Kings picked up their second win in as many days as they outslugged and out lasted the Navan Grads.  Kings F Jayson Alegria (1g) scored his league leading 7th of the season while Fritz Berback (1g,2a) had himself a big night as well.   A bright spot for the Grads was F Louie Marcellino (2g) who is off to a hot start for the defending champs.

Brockville 4 Carleton Place 2

On the second game of a back to back, the Canadians came out strong as they buried goals in the 1st and last minutes of the opening frame.   This seemed to motivate the Braves who turned it on in the 2nd half of the game to come away with the win.  Kellen Dostaler lead the way with 2 goals in the win.  William Bouwer and Alex Payie with the goals for Carleton Place.

Smiths Falls 2 Kemptville 1

This was probably the tightest game of the night, not just on the scoreboard.     Smiths Falls was led by the high flying Travis Ouelette (1g,1a) who buried the winner with just 22 seconds left on the clock.  Heartbreak for the 73’s and goaltender Trenten Bennett (31 saves) who played a marvelous game in a losing effort.
