RECAP | Rockland, Hawkesbury, Brockville, Kemptville & Cornwall all winners

Ottawa, ON- On what was one of the busiest nights of the season, the home sides almost pulled off a clean sweep for wins until Cornwall spoiled the party.

Rockland 3 Ottawa 2

The Nationals continued there strong offensive start to the season peppering Jr. Senators goalie Josh Scully with 43 shots (ended with 40 saves).  It was not to be for Ottawa on this night as the Nationals got a 3rd period goal from Gabriel Le Houillier which proved to be the winner.   Captain Josh O’Connor with his 1st and Trystan-Felix Tremblay with the others in the win.   Gagnon and Brennan with the goals for Ottawa in the loss.

Hawkesbury 6 Nepean 5

All Star games sometimes see less goals than this one as the Hawks and Raiders sent the fans at the Robert Hartley Sports Complex home thoroughly enjoyed.   The game saw 6 first period goals (3 aside).   The Hawks won the second period 2-0 with the winner coming off the stick of Edward Downey with less than 5 mins left.    Deklyn Campbell and Nicolas Papineau with 3 pts each for the Raiders in the loss.    10 different Hawks had at least 1 point in the win.

Brockville 2 Navan 1 (OT)

This had the feel of a playoff game as these two rivals squared off.   The game saw first period goals from Kellen Dostaler and Noah Carpenter (each with their 5th of the season).   That was it until Jesse Lumsden buried a perfect shot early in overtime to win it for the Braves.  Trey Caraccilo continued his strong start to the season with 35 saves in the win.   Tomas Gagne with 33 in the loss.

Kemptville 7 Renfrew 1

The 73’s showed why they are one of the highest scoring teams in the league as they put up a converted touchdown.    The best part, much like Hawkesbury, this was done by committee.   16 different players has at least one point with 3 players getting 2 points (Shaw, Loreto & McDougall).   Trenton Bennett made 12 saves for the win.   For the Wolves, Brody Simpson got his first of the season in the loss.

Cornwall 1 Smiths Falls 0

Games like this don’t come around too often but last night in Smiths Falls we saw one.   One goal was scored and the game had only 4 minor penalties (none in the third).   Players played hard and played within the rules.    The Colts got the winner off the stick of Bradley Fraser (who got his 5th of the season).   Bears goaltender made 22 saves in the loss.
