RECAP I Grads, Lumber Kings & Nationals secure victories

Ottawa, ON- On a busy Wednesday schedule the Navan Grads, Pembroke Lumber Kings, and Rockland Nationals earn big two points.

Navan 4 Nepean 3 (OT)

This one was just about as close as you can get.   So close in fact, that one shot was literally the difference.    In the first we saw goals from Peter Freel (4th) & Sam Kimmerly (2nd).   The 2nd saw Nepean take the lead off of goals from Tyler Smith (2nd) and Deklyn Campbell (6th) while Noah Carpenter (6th) buried one for Navan.   In the final frame, it was Cole Jenken (1st) who tied it up.    In the end, it was none other than Navan’s Shaan Kingwell (12th) who got the OT winner.

UP NEXT: Nepean is in Smiths Falls on Friday for a 7:30pm puck drop.   While Navan is home to Carleton Place for a 3:30pm puck drop on Sunday

Pembroke 5 Ottawa 3

The Pembroke Lumber Kings high powered offence showed that the early season success has been no fluke.  Leading the way again was superstar Jayson Alegria (11th & 12th) who is now again tied for the league league.   Not to be outdone was defenceman Easton Penna who continues his strong play burying his 3rd of the season.   But the “Pesky” Sens did not back down, as their go to scorer Jack Matsukubo (8th) kicked started their surge.  In the end, it was not enough as the Lumber Kings prevail.

UP NEXT: Ottawa is back at home for a Saturday night tilt against the Colts while Pembroke return home for their Sunday night tilt against the Hawks.

Rockland 8 Renfrew 5

If you missed the first period you missed a lot as the Nationals came out of the gate flying.     The put 6 past Wolves goalie Nick Kurtiak (Alex Kelloway x2, Le Houillier x2, Hall, Laurent).   Luke Says came on in relief and shut the door as he tried to tame this high powered offence.    Through two periods it was 8-2 Nationals, but something was said in the room between periods as a rejuvenated Wolves team came out strong in the 3rd.   They put 3 past the typically rock solid Sean Hogan (Fehr; in his Wolves debut, Souliere & Greco).    With 13 goals total, fans got their monies worth on this night.

UP NEXT: These teams finish there home and home series as they travel to Rockland for a Friday night matchup.   Puck drop is 7:30pm
