Hawkesbury 5, Kemptville 2
The Hawkesbury Hawks defeated the Kemptville 73s 5-2 in a physical and fast-paced game. Hawkesbury opened the scoring in the first period with a goal from Perron and extended their lead with three more in the second period from Trudeau, Skoczylas, and D’Arcy. Kemptville responded with a goal by Dylan McDougall to cut into the deficit. In the third period, Santino Canevari added a power-play goal for Kemptville, but Hawkesbury’s Brown sealed the victory with a late tally. Both teams displayed intensity throughout, with penalties and physical play marking much of the game, while strong performances in net from both goalies kept the contest competitive.
Navan 5, Carleton Place 2
The Navan Grads secured a 5-2 victory over the Carleton Place Canadians in a hard-fought matchup. Navan took an early lead with a first-period goal by Ramsay, while Carleton Place tied the game in the second with a goal from McVie-Stevenson before Navan’s Kingwell regained the lead. Bouwer’s power-play goal late in the second brought the Canadians level at 2-2, but Navan dominated the third period with early goals from Brown and Smith before Magaletta sealed the win with an empty-net goal. Both teams battled evenly in shots, with Navan holding a slight edge at 30-27, while strong goaltending performances by Ferguson and Gagne kept the game competitive.
Brockville 5, Rockland 3
The Brockville Braves earned a 5-3 win over the Rockland Nationals in a dynamic game that saw contributions from both teams’ top players. Brockville jumped to an early lead in the first period with goals from Lumsden and Paluszak. Rockland responded in the second with a goal by Tellier, but Brockville regained momentum as Dostaler scored on the power play. Early in the third, Brockville extended their lead with goals from Spicer and Legostaev before Rockland rallied with strikes from Hall and Charron to narrow the gap. Despite late pressure, Brockville held on, outshooting Rockland 31-29 and benefiting from a solid performance by goalie Gerlich.
Pembroke 4, Renfrew 3
The Pembroke Lumber Kings staged a comeback to edge the Renfrew Wolves 4-3 in a tightly contested game. Renfrew struck early in the first period with a goal from Lefebvre and extended their lead in the second with Simpson’s goal. Pembroke responded strongly, as Alegria and Barnard combined for three goals in the second period, with Barnard scoring twice to tie and then regain the lead after Stevenson briefly put Renfrew ahead on a power play. In the third, Pembroke’s Kahriman netted the game-winner at 2:55, and strong goaltending from Modelski, who made 30 saves, helped preserve the win despite Renfrew’s 33 shots on goal.
Cornwall 3, Smiths Falls 0
The Cornwall Colts secured a 3-0 shutout victory over the Smiths Falls Bears, with goaltender Melcher stopping all 30 shots he faced. After a scoreless first period, Cornwall broke the deadlock in the second with a power-play goal from Bonsignore, assisted by Pyke and Ersoni. The Colts extended their lead in the third period with goals from Miron and Bowen, while their defense stifled Smiths Falls despite being outshot 30-12. Smiths Falls goalie Morrow made 9 saves but couldn’t hold off Cornwall’s efficient offense. Special teams played a key role, with Cornwall converting on one of their three power plays while successfully killing off all four Smiths Falls opportunities.
