RECAP | Cornwall wins Wednesday Night

Ottawa, ON — Cornwall defeated Pembroke in a back and fourth game last night to earn their 21st win of the season.

Cornwall 3, Pembroke 1

Cornwall defeated Pembroke 3-1 in a hard-fought game, with goals coming in each of the first two periods. Cornwall opened the scoring on a power play at 11:24, with Walker netting his 11th goal, assisted by McCuaig and Goyette, quickly followedd by a goal from Miron at 12:55. Pembroke answered back in the second period with a goal from Jamfa Jr at 7:51, assisted by Cardiff and Barnard. However, Cornwall stretched the lead at 16:17 with Bowen’s 13th goal, set up by Fraser and Goyette. Despite several penalties and scoring opportunities, neither team found the back of the net in the third period. Cornwall’s goalie, Lesperance-Spack, was outstanding, making 37 saves on 38 shots, while Pembroke’s Modelski stopped 26 of 29 shots.
