RECAP | Carleton Place edges Nepean in lone game

Ottawa, ON- In what was a light night for the league the Carleton Place Canadians squeaked out a tight win against a spirited Nepean Raiders team.

The hardest working person in the rink last night was Canadians goalie Ian Vandenburg who made 41 saves; 16 of them in the 3rd period to help earn the win.   In total the Raiders outshot the Canadians 43-19 but could not find the tying goal.    Luka Benoit (3rd of the season) opened the scoring before the Canadians scored three unanswered (Kay, Prud’homme & Froysland).  Turcotte made it 3-2 mid way through the last stanza but that was as close as it got.     Otsirakatste Brant made 16 saves in the loss.

NEXT UP:  Carleton Place return home for a Sunday afternoon game against Renfrew while Nepean play Hawkesbury on Friday night.
